THE ACT OR THE HEART?
We need to also consider this; God is tired of so called
believers who are after His Acts and not His Heart.
“He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to
the children of Israel”. Psalms 103:7 (NKJV)
Just like the Israelites,
many of us are satisfied with what God can do. God seeks for people who will continue
to stay true to Him whether signs and wonders surface or not. We are at a time where necessary quarantine
is ad vised by government of most nations due to the pandemic, so we have more
time indoors. How you utilize this period will show if your priority is on the
publicity or secret place.
We need to make a great disparity between the Possibilities in God and the Realities of God; that is what we can
get from him and who can be by knowing Him intimately. What will be your reaction when there is no more glamour and
fame? What if money stops coming in? Will you begin to reconsider your
commitment or you will stay glued to God.
This whole story of Judas can be streamlined to one issue;
Love. You say “how?”
John 21:15-17 explained it.
After Jesus’ resurrection, His major speech to the other people
who betrayed him, or say, denied Him, was hinged on a profound question “Do you
love me than these…?” Jesus was saying in essence; “if another issue comes up against the church in the future, do you
love me enough to stand by my bride, the church?” The result was what you will
find in Acts 2:14-21, Peter wasn’t going to run away anymore from a
confrontation. He stood and really showed that His love for Jesus is no deep
enough for him to face challenges.
But Judas didn’t have this opportunity to demonstrate his
love. He had already committed suicide. Some may say Judas was already doomed
to destruction. But there was no place in the scripture where his name was
attached to a prophecy. In fact, the scriptures made us know that “…so
the curse causeless shall not come.”(Prov.26:2).
A bird will find it difficult to build a
nest on an unstable tree. For any curse to take effect there must be something
attracting it to that person or thing. It is now more obvious that the God in
his greatness still leave man to make choice which will in turn attract consequences.
Let a powerful prophecy come to you that you will be a billionaire in two
years. You and I know that if you decide to lie lazy expecting your account to
be credited by the angels, the person may end up in a trans-generational
penury. No prophecy is established until the subject aligns himself/herself to
its reality. If Mary decided to live a wayward life, I tell you. The power in
the prophecy of the virgin birth of Jesus will search for another responsible
virgin still in that family tree of Judah.
The question that you will be asking yourself is what did
Judas Iscariot made out of his life between the Commissioning and the
Crucifixion?
The series continues in the next article. Kindly check it
out.
