You are welcome to the part 4 of the series on JUDAS:The Miracle Worker
RECALL;
Last
article, we were able to get insights to a couple of things
about Judas Iscariot. Some of which are;
§ * Judas means “Praise God”
§ * Judas had a calling of God on him
§ * Judas was anointed
§ * Judas performed signs and wonders
§ * Judas had personal issue before he met Jesus
§ * Jesus knew what Judas was battling with
§ * Judas didn’t spend much time with Jesus
compared to Peter, James and John
§ * The prophecy about Jesus’ betrayal wasn’t
specifically about Judas
§ * Judas exhibited traits that predisposed him to
being a traitor
§ * Peter was also a betrayal
§ * The main issue about Judas was his love for
money rather than for Jesus’ course.
In this article, trust the Holy Spirit to help us get a little deeper today as we explore the
scriptures. We are aware that “…the letter killeth but th Spirit giveth life.”
INTRODUCTION
Love
is always at the core of our perception of God, our responsiveness to Him and
our resolution to be His ardent follower.
Today
we will consider the following;
- The Selection
- The Seclusion
- The Service
1. THE
SELECTION
A
lot has been mentioned about the subject last week. However, suffice to say
that Jesus selected Judas not so he could be the betrayal but so that Judas can
be a believer that will carry on His legacy after He is gone physically from
the earth. If that wasn’t the case, It would have negated the scriptures that
say;
“All
that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in
no wise cast out.” John 6:37
(KJV)
God in His mercy and
supremacy chooses the least like people so He makes them the most like
individuals. You can never, truly come to God and be left the same way you
were.
Your ethnicity might
have predisposed you to some ill behaviours.
Your location and associations could have exposed you to some negative
extremes and harsh treatments and you wonder, “How did I get here?” Sometimes you
wonder where you picked those harmful habits from. You can’t just wrap your
head around the source of that addiction. You just know you are where you don’t
want to be doing things you don’t want to do. Ask Paul, he will testify,
“15 In fact, I don’t understand why I act the way I do. I don’t do
what I know is right. I do the things I hate.
16 Although I don’t do what I know is right, I agree that the Law is
good.
17 So I am not the one doing these evil things. The sin that lives in
me is what does them.
18 I know that my selfish desires won’t let me do anything that is
good. Even when I want to do right, I cannot.
19 Instead of doing what I know is right, I do wrong.
20 And so, if I don’t do what I know is right, I am no longer the one
doing these evil things. The sin that lives in me is what does them.
21 The Law has shown me that something in me keeps me from doing what
I know is right.
22 With my whole heart I agree with the Law of God.
23 But in every part of me I discover something fighting against my
mind, and it makes me a prisoner of sin that controls everything I do.
24 What a miserable person I am. Who will rescue me from this body
that is doomed to die?
Romans
7:15-24 (CEV)
Paul
was anointed, yet he had struggles. It’s amazing how God intentionally choses
us in spite our shortcomings and vulnerabilities. Stop blaming your upbringing.
Even though it might has its toll on you but your background isn’t the reason
your back should be on the ground. God has selected you for such a time
as things. He knew you before you were conceived. And He wants to use you.
1 Timothy 1:15 (CEV) says;
“Christ
Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” This saying is true, and it can be
trusted. I was the worst sinner of all!
You
are the ELECT of God. You may think you don’t deserve it but He knows what He
is doing. Trust Him. He’s got wonders He want to perform through you. He wants
you to be the extension of His personality to other.
This
is the reason you should be humble no matter how much you rise or have risen in
life. You should always be aware that you are not there by your power.
